I did not expect to enjoy this book as much as I did! I had dnfed the Atlas Six series before so I was hesitant about revisiting this author, but I think the reason I stopped the series was the pacing. I enjoyed the pacing of this book much better. The audiobook is amazing and I am so glad I decided to go into it.
I think these were supposed to be unlikable characters but as the book goes on and you learn more about each you start to feel for them. By the end I realized what the book and the relationships had reminded me of and it was the Umbrella Academy. I loved seeing each sibling and their growth and working through their situations in connection to their father.
I found the side characters interesting as well, but other than Gillian they felt forgotten or just background.
Like no cared at all the Phillipa died.
Yves was high the entire time and does barley any tv it; and then we randomly get that he’s psychic out of nowhere. Dzhuliya should have been more involved as well, she is barely mentioned and talked even less, she was mostly from Eilidh’s pov.
It did have more shock value to reveal her pregnancy this way I guess.

Lou was interesting, but it was confusing when she was metaphorically God as well. At the beginning it was made to seem that she was more than she was revealed to be to the siblings, was it just to be part of Meredith’s growth to make it up to her after her betrayal because she held the guilt? Also why was there such an emphasis on her child?
I also did not understand the point of the last chapter with Lou.
The epilogue made much more sense there but I wish Arthur and Eilidh were also part of it, I would love to see where they were after 8 months.
Dzhuliya too with the baby.
