Wow, the feels hit me during the first 10 sentences of the prologue and then it was impossible to put this book down. Ferry has waited 4000 years and many lifetimes to be with his mate Leo permanently. The depth of his love knows no bounds and he’ll do anything to ensure Leo is happy, even if that means not being with Leo the way he desperately wants. Leo struggles with his attraction to Ferry but is all in after he accepts that he’s not straight and can no longer deny the feelings he has for Ferry.

The story telling ability of this author had me crying due to Ferry’s circumstances and then laughing out loud at him adjusting to a new modern world. There’s so much passion and tenderness between this wonderful couple but also strength and stubbornness. All these traits and more are needed as they fight an unknown enemy to get their long awaited and well deserved HEA.

I loved the originality of the Grim Reaper angle and the complex world building. There’s the perfect balance between the romance, the plot and the strong character elements which kept me fully engaged from start to finish. Old friends are included alongside some new interesting characters and I can’t wait for Sebastian’s story to be told next.
