Considering the fact that The Selection is one of my favorite series, I was very disappointed by this book. The pacing was incredulous, the characters were shallow, and the main character had such moments of clarity that were then followed by incredible moments of stupidity and impulsivity. Also, the insta-love in here was cringe-worthy. I'm slightly curious to know where this going but also...not curious because of how this book really pissed me off lol. I had such high hopes because my memory of the author's writing is that she can write very nuanced main characters, but this book lacked a lot of that.
