This book is one of the few things giving me hope right now. It is really good at putting into words so many thoughts and feelings about life and living at this point in time that are very hard to express. It is incredibly comforting, emotional, hopeful and inspiring. It's difficult to record re-reads because I'm not sure I ever stop reading it, I pick it up and read my favourite essays anytime I need a distraction or reassurance.
The podcast is by a small margin a better experience than the book (the Policygenius ads might be the deal-breaker XD) but I think both are worthwhile.
I struggle to recommend the book as I worry that few will be able to appreciate it if they are not already familiar with John Green or the podcast, and that their "armour of cynicism" may be too robust for the book to pierce. But if everyone could take the ideas in this book, or the podcast, to heart then I'm sure the world would be a much better place.
