This book was such a fun read. Keagan and Avalon make such a great pairing on their quest for the shard and the Syndicate adds a level of complexity to the intense world that Gossin has created. 

One of my fave things from the book was the airship scenes that felt so much like the movie “Treasure Planet” from when I was a kid. I love the steampunk aesthetic of some of the scenes which adds a bit of a futuristic twist to a traditional fantasy world. 

The twists of the book and the climax had me at the edge of my seat worrying about the characters. 

I can’t wait to see what will happen next!
