i really enjoyed this.
it was fun and cute and a very fast and entertaining read with great characters.
i enjoyed seeing lina and aaron again a few times and getting to know rosie better was nice.
i enjoyed the romance and how it build slowly but surly between rosie and the male character.
i liked the light tone writing for most of this book but it also dealt with real issues and insecurities without making light of those things.
one of the few things that i found a bit too over the top was the writers block struggle. that was a little too much on the nose of “aw gosh darn i hope i find some help for my romance troubles somewhere? where could i possible find a guy inspiring me to write a romance story?”
i think the story would have worked just as well if it would have been just about experiencing with dates in general and it it’s realistic to write about and make that the thing instead of a writers block -BUT as it is? it work so doesn’t really matter.
i also disliked a bit more that Rosie didn’t have even one positive romance experience before apparently.
look i never dated so far in my life and never had a relationship. not looking for that, so what do i know?
so maybe that’s realistic but really? i just found it a bit hard to believe that a smart good looking woman couldn’t find even one decent guy so far even if just for a few dates of she’s interested in doing that.
but it felt a bit as of the author was trying to make Rosie into this woman that needed someone to save her and show her romance and love and make the male interest be that and have him be this perfectly capable and wonderfully romantic person that just knows what Rosie would enjoy when he plans the dates… mhm.
maybe i am just a bit too skeptic?
but aside from that which was pretty easy for me to ignore in the overall sense of the book, this was fun and that was what i was looking.
i think this was really well done and enjoyed it a lot.
