A Cosmic Kind of Love
by Samantha Young
challenging
funny
lighthearted
medium-paced
Chris is an astronaut who sends videos to his socialite girlfriend Darcy even as she's falling for another man and getting engaged. When she hires Hallie to be her wedding planner, she accidentally sends gifts of these videos and Hallie watches them and sends him her own.
Then Hallie and Chris meet. There are sparks and they become friends and grow closer. But they have a lot of baggage. Hallie has pretty immature parents who keep putting her in the middle of their nasty after divorce lives. Chris deals with a father who had never taught him about his half Mexican heritage and tries to control his life.
I thought the book could have been paired down a bit especially with taking out a lot of the crap of Hallie's parents. Chris was kind of naive about his ex and that bugged me too. But overall, a solid read.
