This book is outside my normal genre and type of book I read so I wasn't sure how I'd feel about it but I loved it. The writing style, the pacing, the characters, the plot, the relationships. There are so many amazing quotable lines.

"“Is this a setup? Is someone about to jump me?” His voice was drowsy and bored. “You a dealer? My bad if I owe you money.”
“I look like a dealer to you?”
“I’ve had girl dealers.” He shrugged. “I’m a feminist.”"

Interactions like this really sold me on the book. It was funny, heartfelt and meaningful. It was a thought-provoking read, and I devoured this book.

"And maybe that was what real, adult love was. Being fearless enough to hold each other close no matter how catastrophic the world became. Loving each other with enough ferocity to quell the fears of the past. Just fucking being there."

I really loved seeing the portrayal of our main character struggling with migraines. It felt real, and really relatable as someone who struggles with chronic pain. Her interactions with her daughter were one of my favourite parts of this and really shined despite the focus on the romantic storyline (which was also amazing by the way - and I don't usually like romance.)

I did find the ending a bit jarring. It felt like the characters were stuck at the same point for most of the book and then all of a sudden were changed in one chapter. I would have liked to see a  bit more of a natural character growth.

Loved this read, and would absolutely read more by the author.
