clar2d2 's review for:
Pride and Prejudice
by Jane Austen
Unfortunately, I didn't have much time or motivation to read this when I did, because of all the schoolwork I had at the time. For now, I give this book 4 stars, though I'm hoping to reread this book in the future, when I'm in the position to give it the attention it deserves while reading it, and possibly give it 5 stars.
While I did have difficulty getting into this, in the second half, when I was finally able to dedicate myself to reading the book a couple of hours at a time, I really did find myself enjoying it. I barely put this book down from about the 70% mark onward, for whatever reason.
I love strong female protagonists, so I loved Elizabeth. Overall though, I loved how relevant many of the issues tackled here still were to present times. I can definitely see why this is one of those books people say every woman should read in her lifetime.
