Cosmic horror without Lovecraftian racism? Count me in!
I enjoyed this book immensely, and not just because LaValle tells a story about race, but not a racist story, which is rare enough in this genre. It's also suspenseful, creepy, scary, most importantly: weird, and really well written.
The cosmic horror genre definitely needs more of this.
Instant favourite.
10/10 would recommend.
