I like this series a lot and would like to give book a higher rating but there are some pacing issues.  Some storylines are resolved almost too quickly and some are really drawn out.  

For example

the winter court storyline appears to have a lot of gravitas as Drystan is extremely affected by it throughout the book and then the king and his mother are killed so quickly.  And yet the Caed storyline is taking a long time to resolve and just as it looks like it's going to be resolved something new is thrown into the mix.

I don't think that either storyline was too drawn out or was resolved too quickly but it seems uneven at times.

Or maybe it's just a particular plot line that feels overly drawn out because I, as a reader, do not feel invested in the story.  When it's obvious that it will be resolved one way and every interruption just means it's putting off the inevitable it becomes annoying .
