Fantasy stand alones are hard to come by and are even harder to find one done well, but this was able to do it so well. From the first line I was hooked, there was the shock factor that I needed to keep reading. Every character had their own development while the plot kept moving forward too. I really enjoyed how this book had such a fast paced plot, but I never felt overwhelmed or like it was too much happening at once.

I gave this book 4.25 stars because I loved it (4) and it had me thinking about it for a bit after, it was able to stick in my mind for a bit after reading it (0.25), something many fantasy books won't do for me because all of their plots mix together in my mind.
