I put off reading this book because I struggle with sci-fi. But after a week of my partner asking me about it I sat down and started.... And devoured it in 3 sittings. The only thing stopping me from reading it in one was being an adult and going to work. 
It's a lovely story with great characters that explores space and what it means to be sentient....sapient...and alive. 
This was such a good book that despite the fact I just finished it I want to start it all over again.
