I utterly adored this novel up to 61%, and simply loved it from that point on. Lockwood starts with this beautiful blend of tears-in-your-eyes-laughter, self-awareness, and the utter insanity of her religious upbringing that is both poignant and hysterical. But at 61% the tone changes to something more poetic and altogether more sad. I wish that the thread twining together levity and seriousness had stayed a little more consistent throughout. It picks back up after a while, but it's hard won.

Overall this book was beautifully written, raw, and a fascinating insight into what it's like to grow up the daughter of a Catholic priest.
