The Book Censor's Library by Bothayna Al-Essa
5.0

I think this was an extremely well done translation. The story didn’t have any weird sentence structure or word choices, everything fit very well. Now for the actual story. I loved all of the mentions to literature, 1984, Alice in Wonderland, Pinocchio. I liked the idea that the govt banned anything that suggested imagination including children’s books. It very much reflected what is currently happening in the US. The govt bans books with “profane material” while the ppl making the laws consume that same material. I very much enjoyed the ending as well, was the book censor just a character in a book? Or was he and everyone else real the whole time?
