Astrid Parker Doesn't Fail
by Ashley Herring Blake
this book was not at all what i was anticipating, i LOVED the first book in the series and felt this one was disjointed and at points very cringey in comparison. i felt it lacked the shared history behind the stories that delilah had. i was so excited to head back to this world and it felt like a very lackluster return. a lot of the climactic points were settled too quickly and others that could have been settled quickly were drawn out. i did enjoy a lot of aspects of it, like astrid coming to terms with who she is sexually and the journey she has with her mom. but overall it just wasn’t my favorite, i am still looking forward to iris’s book however and hope that one gives me the feelings book one had.
