The cover is beautiful but misleading. The cat doesn't show up as anything significant but a creature to be bullied and ignored. The title also suggests a mystery but it's 6 chapters of exactly the same narrative structure just with a different recipe to recreate from the clients' (sometimes tearful) sharing. Good for anyone who's into Japanese cuisine, food and culture. But I only continued reading out of hope that there would surely be something different along the way, but no. Got dull really fast for me.
