A murder, of beloved school teacher Daisy, occurs in Burning Lake. Detective Natalie is tasked with the case. She has ties to Daisy as she is one of her sister Grace's friends. The case doesn't start out great as the first suspect falls into a coma.
There is more to the story. There is a dark history in Burning Lake. There were 3 hanged woman suspected of witchcraft. Young girls form covens and perform Wiccan rituals. No one is untouched by the consequences of such things.
Alice has a way of writing so well that I'm immediately drawn into the story and it doesn't let me go.
I can't believe the ending.... The killer is someone I NEVER expected. That's the sign of a good mystery for me. I hope she writes more of Detective Natalie in the future .
