The Little Android
by Marissa Meyer
I just love this series. I am gong to be so sad when it's all over. Meyer has such a way of writing and such a way with sucking you into a story. Even a short one such as this.
Meyer has immersed her readers in the retelling of fairy tales. This one is The Little Mermaid. Funny how we see the Disney movies and feel as if those are the stories we grew up with. When in reality they really are not.
Not only does Meyer show us a few new characters in this book, but she also shows us Cinder once again (I love how she pops up in every book!).
For me, Meyer is spot on with her fairy tale retellings. She uses just the right amount of the fairy tale we know and then twists it to make it her own. Her writing is fantastic and never ceases to pull me in and sink it's teeth into me! She goes right for your heart, and hits it hard. It's so sweet the way the Android sacrifices herself!
If you have been enjoying The Lunar Chronicles, then scoot on over and immerse yourself in this little gem! It might tide you over until the next book is released!
