I wasn't looking forward to this since Ryber was not a character I cared about. Even if this was short. Got it from the library anyway. It was a quick read. I forgot someone had mentioned it was mixed media. Do that helped. Particularly in the first half. 

However it still took me this long to read because my mind was elsewhere. That being said, I liked this more than I expected to. Way more. Ryber's story at the convent was actually interesting. The media pages broke up the diary entries, which is how most of this is written. And this novella expanded the witchlands world by adding some history and a little more mystery. Not that we needed more of the latter. 

And I like that we got more unreliable narration in a different way than the other books. Having finished, I can say I am once again intrigued to go on. What's really compelling me through each book is the question of What is going on? The implication that Safi and Iseult are may not be the biggest important thing in this world added to that.
