Adam was just incredibly wishy washy and no amount of insight into his psyche made it bearable. That and the change from hating each other to finding each other incredible/mesmerizing was so abrupt that it gave me whiplash. I got 60% of the way through before deciding not to waste anymore of my time on characters I felt no deep investment in.
