Wow. I had heard really good things about this book and I've been enjoying a lot of indigenous books recently. This was a lot darker than I had been told but I think it worked very well. Not a fun read but a good one nonetheless. Great character growth, great moments of poetry mixed with very real, very human moments. I think the complexities of the story really worked well and there were moments where I really didn't know what to expect. I thought about this book pretty much every second that I wasn't reading it, it is that haunting.
