Been Here All Along by Sandy Hall

Overall the book was good. I really liked the subject and the two main characters were definitely adorable. The one thing that threw me off about this book's plot was that it all seemed so....easy. No one questioned their relationship, no one objected (except one obvious person) no one was cruel. It was interesting. At first it was a letdown, but then I realized that's how it SHOULD be and I love the author for showing that side of things.

There were only three things that I didn't really like about the book.
1)Ruby was horrible. The author threw some things in there that were clearly supposed to make us sympathetic to her, but I just didn't feel it. She was a horrible self-centered person and even though I somewhat understood her predicament and why she would be upset, it was overshadowed by how shallow and unlikable she was. Even her character change at the end seemed more about self-preservation than anything else.

2) Ezra was not well rounded enough. For someone who had a POV, we didn't really learn much about it. I just wish there was more to his story. I understand he's not the main character, but if you weren't going to develop him, why give him a POV at all. He just seemed very unimportant and an afterthought and I just wanted to know more about him.

3)It was all cleaned up extremely fast. The ending/resolution seemed a bit forced and literally happened within like 10 pages like the author realized she was running out of time.

Overall it was a decent read. It just could have offered more.
