annarella 's review for:
A Gentleman's Murder
by Christopher Huang
I started this book late in the evening and I couldn't put it till very late in the night.
It's a wonderful mystery that is more complex and layered than the usual historical.
There's a traditional mystery, the subtle racism due to the main character mixed origins and the aftermath of WWI (PPSTD and shell shock).
The plot is well devised, enthralling and atmosperic.
I think this is one the best book I read in 2018.
Highly recommended!
Many thanks to Edelweiss and the publisher for this ARC
