I'm genuinely at a loss of words for this book and the many emotions I had reading it. This book has been on my tbr for so long but I think I read it at the right time to where it's going to leave an impact on me. 

This book follows Jay, a mixed Fil-Am, from the U.S. to the islands as he tries to find the truth of what happened to his cousin Jun after learning he was murdered. Along the way he learns more about his family across the sea, his heritage, and history of the islands in a span of a week; he reckons with so many ideas and that people are often complicated, or not "just one thing". 

This book made me tear up so many times, I lost count. I'm glad I picked it up finally.
