Between the World and Me
by Ta-Nehisi Coates
challenging
reflective
Between The World and Me is a phenomenal book. Ta-Nehisi Coates's spectacular blend of personal reflective writing and incisive social critique was powerful to read. This book hit me more personally than I expected it to. While Coates's experiences are vastly different from my own his coming of age and realization about his relationship with race were often liberating and inspiring. Coates is a phenomenal writer and his rhetoric never failed to move me. While much of this book does feel like a time capsule of a specific moment in history I can see myself revisiting Coates words for years to come.
