She had to cut it out before she succumbed but now 12 years later and he’s proven himself to have changed and Jules is tired of seeing all her sisters get their happily ever afters while she stands by... she’s tired of resisting Ruben and is ready to finally open herself up to him. All the while they both are working together to fight for the werewolf cause they campaign together at covens from New Orleans to London, all this time together and they’ll have to face the pains of their past if they want to have a future together. They’ll have to address why they didn’t work in the past and why they can work now. I adored the relationship between Ruben and Jules, I’m not the biggest fan of second chance romances but this one really worked for me. Ruben is great with communication, clearly laying out the truth and his intentions, and I always appreciate the : forward and upfront aspect in relationships where the partner clearly lays out the truth. Jules fears were valid and I loved that she got to address them and work towards a happier and healthier relationship for herself. This was a fantastic addition in the series and I can’t wait to see where the next book goes!
