there were moments that i disliked yinka and moments where i related to her struggle with finding herself. this book was a very stark and accurate representation of what it’s like to be black british woman, right down to the strained family issues hidden behind nagging aunties, and the friendship groups that are there for you even when you aren’t there for yourself.
