De Voordelen van Onbeantwoorde Liefde
by Becky Albertalli
I had high hopes for this book. So, when I was disappointed in the first half (!!) of the book, I became a bit anxious. But, thank god, the second half was exactly what I expected this book to be. It transformed me into a puddle. IT IS SO CUTE AND FLUFFY.
What I did not like about this, it that it felt like a bit too much diversity. Of course, this does not really exist, but it felt like some diversity things where written into the character for the diversity aspect. They did not matter that much to the whole story, so I did not saw the point of them. Other points were really relevant and I really liked those.
And there was a bit of a love triangle. This really disappointed me, I expected Becky to not seek writer-shelter in something as average as that. And the end of it was predictable for me. I do see the point of it, but it felt a bit packed, a bit squeezed in the story.
But after I past the 50% mark, oh gosh. It became more fluffy than my bathrobe and that thing is full body length and soft pink. This book topped that.
Oh and I LOVE the Dutch cover. To be honest, I dislike the English cover, but the same was the case with Simon for me :) The Dutch ones are SO PRETTY, especially in comparison in my opinion hihi And the translation is done REALLY WELL again, as always with books by BlossomBooks.
