it’s an interesting story, told in an interesting way.
i liked that this book. try mich focused on the differences between parent and child and how we can love each other but dislike each other at the same time. be so closely related and so very different from each other.
but i found the book to long? which is such a strange thing to say about a book that’s a good amount under 300 pages.
but after about half the book the story felt to reparative in its nature to me.
sure there were different plot points and story aspects but the overall message of there being a disconnect between mother and child, having a hard time connecting to big and getting along, trying to find way to get along but having issues and not feeling like the people around you understand it.
all those things felt repeated.
overall it’s still a very interesting story and a very interesting point of view and for me a view into a different culture and how it handles dementia diseases.
it’s a great book and i am pretty sure i will be re-reading it in a few years to see if it still feels as too long or if my current mindset was just ready for a more action packed story art be time.
