This was a very odd book. Like a sort of fairytale mixed with irl plot elements. I'm not sure what I thought of it, but I enjoyed the experience of reading it. While I was listening, I kept getting flashes of Tehereh Mafi's Furthermore series, even though this is much more set in the real world. Similar vibes of modern-day fairytales though
