Ann Patchett’s writing is simply dreamy. Set in 2020, yet the pandemic is only for the forced setting, I was transported to the cherry farm in Traverse City while Lara tells her three adult daughters all about the one summer in Tom Lake, MI. She played Emily in Our Town, and had a summer romance with actor Peter Duke, before he became a world famous, award-winning actor. There were such great connections to the theater and other plays along with a few twists for me that made this just a delight. Listening to Meryl Streep narrate this tale was the cherry on top (pun intended).
