"The more I learn about Anne, the more I understand that if you are incapable of speaking for yourself, then others will do it for you. And it will probably be a very long time before they get it right."

The final book in the A View From the Twenty-First Century series. Like the previous books, this book sets out to challenge another Brontë myth. This one challenges the myth that Anne was the 'boring' one. Far from the truth! Hay writes an excellent collection of arguments disputing this.

This is a welcome addition to the new biographies and studies about Anne. I would recommend readers to this book.
