Charli has had to work hard for everything she has and didn’t have an easy life, to say the least. Though she is a professional female hockey player, she still needs to work a day job just to survive. I loved Charli. I loved her strength and determination. She didn’t have it easy and there are things in her past that have made her who she is today, yet she tries to do what she can to make a better life for herself now. Neil may come from wealth, but he is sweet and caring. He has been crushing on Charli since the moment they met, yet never can admit that to her.

There is chemistry between Neil and Charli. They are both professional hockey players, so they understand each other on that level. I loved the friendship that they formed. Seeing Charli slowly let down her walls and let Neil in and provide him with the details of her past. I loved seeing the progression of going from acquaintances to waking up married to becoming friends and eventually something more.
