This book has its audience.
those that enjoy reading nonsense stories or enjoy myths and tales more because they are strange and different and uniquely written instead of the actual story itself.
i didn’t enjoy this. i didn’t hate it.
But i think there are a lot of better stories and a lot better authors and stories that would be enjoyed by more people to be put on the booker long list instead of this one.
i am not saying the author or this book don’t deserve being talked about.
but i prefer books on prize lists that are not only for a small group of people or in other words leave a larger amount of readers questioning what they just read.
i am not sure what exactly this book was trying to tell other sharing a very strange story that overall doesn’t do anything at all for the reader - no lesson or good message.
this wasn’t for me, but the audiobook was well done and i think for this story i would recommend that since it makes the repetitive words that keep coming up easier to get through.
or just skip reading the same word 10-15 times as they are listed in the book, i guess.
