It’s hard to rate a memoir, so I won’t. I’d never heard of this cult (Children of God) but it was was an interesting and somewhat innocuous look at what went on in a doomsday cult in the late 80s early 90s. I don’t want to demean someone’s lived experience, but the lion’s share of the book is written from the perspective of a child and the vibe of the book leans heavily into a somewhat insulated, safe feel.
