A Queer History of the United States for Young People
by Michael Bronski
The actual political history was woven in through a series of mini biographies of individuals important to the LGBTQIA+ community. While those were interesting, I'd have liked more about how the various political movements affected the country as a whole. It should be noted that lesbian, gay, and transgender folks have the most representation here. Bisexuality and intersex individuals are mentioned only briefly. There is a complete lack of discussion of asexuality or any asexual individuals, and the brief definition of asexuality in the glossary is misleading. It's a pretty decent book for what it is, though. It's a good start.
