Annie Wilkes is some scary lady. It's been years since I've seen the movie, but it's still pretty clear in my mind. Didn't matter, though. This might be one of the very best of King's writing, and he might also have sold his soul to the Devil in order to have the skill to maintain suspense. Waiting for Annie to lose it was both fun and scary.
