Remembrance is the first book in the new adult paranormal romance Heart Lines series by Heather Hildenbrand. The Heart Lines series is a spin-off of Heather's Dirty Blood series and while it’s more fun to come in already knowing a bit about these characters, you do NOT have to read Dirty Blood first. You can just jump in here! I loved heather's Dirty Blood series. It is hands down my very favorite werewolves series. I think it is the best one out there! So when I heard she was going to come out with a new spin off, I was excited. And then I heard that the series was going to be about my very favorite character from the Dirty Blood series...Alex! I heart the heck out of Alex. I actually shipped him really hard throughout the Dirty Blood series.

Remembrance is Alex and Sam's story, or the start to it, and I loved every single second of it. Seriously, I could not turn the pages fast enough. Even though you can read this series as a standalone, I think I would recommend reading the Dirty Blood series first, because the books are all set in the same world, and there is character overlap. Plus, the Dirty Blood series is excellent and you get to see more of Alex! Which is always a plus in my book. (and you do get to see Tara and Wes in Remembrance, which was a lot of fun.)

Sam can't remember what happened in her past to make her the way she is today. And Alex needs her to remember. I don't want to spoil anything from the plot, but Sam and Alex are both trying to solve something and they need to help each other in order to get what they want. Sam wants to remember and Alex wants a cure. Seeing the two of their paths cross was really interesting and I know it is going to be the start of a great journey. I loved that this book was firmly within the new adult age range. Towards the end of the Dirty Blood series, I could tell we were heading in that direction, and I liked that this series started out as new adult. And after reading Remembrance, I love Alex even more than I did before. He is just so excellent.

And because I love Alex so much, I was really hoping for someone worthy of him. Samantha had some big boots to fill in my opinion. But I am so happy to report that I loved her! And I loved the interaction between the two of them. Even if they didn't always know what to make of one another. I need more ASAP! Especially after Heather killed me with her cliffhanger. But fear not, she is releasing books 2 and 3 very rapidly so you can pretty much binge on this series. Book 2 is coming out this month and book 3 is coming out in April. Heather Hildenbrand has another hit on her hands with the Heart Lines series. Remembrance is a favorite of mine! I loved this book so much and I can't wait to see more Alex! Fans of the Dirty Blood series must read the Heart Lines series. And if you are new to this world, you must read both series!
