The Inheritance Games
by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
» QUICK OVERVIEW «
Stars: ★★☆☆☆
Plot: ★★★☆☆
Readability: ★★★☆☆
Characters: ★★☆☆☆
Writing: ★★★☆☆
Recommend: ✗
» PLOT «
Avery is just your average girl, until the billionaire Tobias Hawthorne leaves her 46.2 billion dollars. One problem; she has never met the man. As she heads to the Hawthorne estate to claim her inheritance, more and more questions arise to why the billionaire would leave the entirely of his wealth to a stranger.
Overall, the plot was okay. I didn't really like the aspect of the clues/game. It really wasn't that interesting. The part with Emily was interesting for awhile, but it really wasn't unique.
Something I didn't expect: Based on the synopsis and the first few chapters, (view spoiler).
» READABILITY «
The audiobook helped, but even so, I didn't want to keep reading, so I just pushed through the second half of the book.
» CHARACTERS «
Aside from Landon, I really did not like any of the characters. All of the brothers really blend together. Avery's sister, Libby, is annoying. None of the Hawthorne family is likeable.
» WRITING «
The writing is okay, I read this book with an audiobook, I really didn't have a problem with anything. It wasn't special though.
» OVERALL «
I debated giving this a 2 or a 3 star, and I ended up giving it a 2 star, simply because there really wasn't anything I liked about this book.
