This was a good book. It set up the world and they characters well. I wasn’t as entranced by it as I am by other books but I think that’s because this book sets up what all is to come. The plots were all character motivated and didn’t seem to me to play into the overarching plot of the series until the end. I have faith that I will like the books better as I go just because I have read the first book or what I’m going to call ‘the introduction’ in the series. Can’t wait to see what Susan Dennard does with the next books!
