Turtles All the Way Down by John Green
4.0

It’s definitely been too long ago since I’ve read this book to write a coherent review about it. I did however finish it in a couple of hours, which speaks for itself. Also, here are some quotes and thoughts I marked down while reading:

’... we were looking at the same sky together, which is maybe more intimate than eye contact anyway. Anybody can look at you. It’s quite rare to find someone who sees the same world you see.’

————————————————————————

“I’m not much of an outside cat...”

>> ME!

————————————————————————

’...we just sort of stood there not touching, which to be honest is my preferred form of greeting.’

>> Wouldn’t that be easier for everyone?

————————————————————————

‘Everyone always celebrates the easy attractiveness of green or blue eyes, but there was a depth to Davis’s brown eyes that you just don’t get from lighter colours, and the way he looked at me made me feel like there was something worthwhile in the brown of my eyes, too.’

>> As a brown-eyed person who sometimes wishes she had blue eyes, this made me smile and feel good about myself.

————————————————————————

‘The worst part of being truly alone is you think about all the times you wished that everyone would just leave you be. Then they do, and you are left being, and you turn out to be terrible company.’

————————————————————————

‘The problem with happy endings is hat they’re either not really happy, or not really endings, you know? In real life, some things get better and some things get worse. And then eventually you die.’
