Loved this book. Especially since I read on my kindle during my first backpacking trip! I loved reading not just a fiction hiking book but YA as well! I didn't love the set up at the beginning between the protagonist and her friend. I wanted McKenna to be more angry at Courtney, but she seemed so chill by the situation, despite really lying to her parents for the first time. Sam was good, albeit a bit abruptly dynamic midway through when he decided to go ahead and not be a dick to McKenna. I also didn't love the situation with them lost in the wood. Hmm, now that I think about it, there was a lot I didn't actually like about the actual story. However, I loved the concept so much. And I always love reading about backpacking a hiking because it just makes me want to be doing it too. That being said, I would definitely recommend this lighthearted read about a very headstrong, independent, and outdoorsy girl.
