These stories are hard to read but very essential, as they are honest about the violence women face in Mexico. The stories feature women of different classes and backgrounds, and they all do what they can to survive in a world not made for them. There's an emphasis on the friendships of women and girls, which was nice to read about. For instance, in some stories women mourn their murdered friends and do what they can to get justice for them. I am eager to read more from Dahlia de la Cerda.
