The Black Dress
by Deborah Moggach
REVIEW: Moggach is a new to me author so I was SO EXCITED to discover her.
This book is very hard to describe. It is very.. maudlin? Moggach describes heartbreaking bereavements and people's struggles but with such humour that you find yourself laughing out loud at the characters and the situations they get themselves in.
Usually any books to do with loss make me incredibly anxious but the writing style in this one is so full of zest that I have actually been flying through this.
I don't want to say too much but there are certain moments in this book where some of the encounters the main character has made me react out loud, and the Narration is IMPECCABLY clever. Giving this book a very enjoyable ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
