If you've ever been the child who is overlooked because you aren't a boy. Put down because of your looks, weight, or relationship status. Care about a worthy cause that most people don't care about? Then this is for you. I found this book relatable in so many aspects. I dont know much about Chinese culture but I do enjoy lunar new year in relation to the east Asian diaspora in connection to food. I found the behavior of lilies family very relatable. Unfortunately foreign families have the encanto effect. Where the villian should apologize and pay but people take the half apology and let it go because of family responsibility in relation to culture. To also have your own family call you fat ugly needing to marry and have kids because you're old wow such a common thing. Maybe a trigger warnings would be helpful for some. I really enjoyed the story not being overly romantic but just enough. I dont know much about brands being that i grew up poor and prefer thrifting ross tjmaxx marshalls Macy's etc even my favorite luxury brand kate spade I get from the outlet or thrift. I could see this played out in a short film or indie reminds me of saving face movie by Alice we in the ridiculousness of the characters. Good job grace.
