Does It Hurt? by H.D. Carlton
5.0

I felt a sense of hesitation when approaching this book, given the captivating recommendations for page-turners from your side. Yet, much to my delight, everyone's endorsement was absolutely accurate. And then, after a particular pivotal moment (you know exactly which one I'm referring to if you've delved into these pages), I found myself utterly incapable of setting the book aside.

For those perusing this review in search of insight into its literary worth, allow me to share this: Within the initial chapters of this book, an occurrence takes place that leads me to ponder about the morning meal HD Carlton might have savored or the libation she might have indulged in the prior night. Nonetheless, we're discussing the same mastermind who gifted us with "Haunting Adeline," so this narrative remains consistent with her distinctive style—an attribute I've grown fond of. The tale introduces us to a charismatic yet scarred gentleman fluent in Italian, picturesque beaches, unnerving encounters with sharks, and as is customary, a well-placed narrative twist that we all relish in books of this nature.
