This is a short, dyslexia-friendly middle grade book which retells the story of Camilla from Roman mythology (and especially Virgil's Aeneid).
The story is not a particularly happy one, and neither is this book, which may be an unfortunate surprise to some readers, especially with few children likely to have first read the Aeneid! In all honesty it's not really to my taste either. For anyone who likes a darker, more downbeat tale however there is plenty to appreciate here, with an effective and emotional retelling of a myth that I've never seen retold before.
