I saw Maya speak at a romance writing conference this year and was so inspired/intrigued by her talk that I just had to read her books. And a series that pays homage to famous rom-com movies, including Bridget Jones's Diary?! YES, PLEASE. I adored this book! Adding BJD and P&P references to the trope about the plump, clutzy heroine attracting the stuffy, brooding hero? Love it! Bridget's wonderful and I really loved the couple's funny, romantic banter. One quibble. If Renee Zellweger could gain weight twice to play our beloved Bridget, this cover should have featured a plus-sized model. I'm happy to see the romance writing industry becoming more diverse and inclusive, and I think that should include cover models, too. Looking forward to the remaining three books in this series.
