ryinwonderland 's review for:
Gideon the Ninth
by Tamsyn Muir
I need to digest this one for a bit before I properly review it, but wow I think I want to be Gideon when I grow up.
Two things about reading this book: it drops you into the world with absolutely no backstory or help. There are no handholds as you scrabble around the first few chapters, so just let yourself fall into it. After the first few chapters you and the other characters will end up on equal footing together and things will start to slide into place. Stick with it. It’s worth it.
And the other thing, keep track of names and houses. There are like 20 main characters in this book and they’re all important.
Okay, I need to go nurse my book hangover. Proper review to come later.
